Kindred Cafe is many things to many people. Our ground floor is a beautiful, classy, socially conscious, organic, fair-trade and fresh-roasted coffee shop, open to the general public and featuring some of the finest coffees and edibles in the world (eat-in or take-out). On top of all that, we strive to provide merchandise, service, little extras like free wireless
internet access and all-round impeccable attention to detail intended to please the most discerning of Cafe patrons. If you are seeking a ‘higher level of Cafe enjoyment,’ for a very reasonable fee you can acquire a monthly or annual membership which entitles you to rent time in one of our decadently appointed private rooms (along with some included toys and technology like surround-sound widescreen home-theatre XBOX systems), and to spend time on our fantastic smoke-friendly rooftop patio. Day passes are also available, for only a few dollars.
Our current hours of operation:
Monday 8:30am-9pm
Tuesday 8:30am-11pm
Wednesday 8:30am-11pm
Thursday 8:30am-12midnight
Friday 8:30am-2am
Saturday 11am-2am
Sunday 11am-9pm
We occasionally book private functions and host special events which can affect our open-to-the-public hours, and are happy to stay open for late-staying groups if we're able and it makes sense to. Please give us a call (416-920-0404) if you are concerned about your plans coinciding with our hours.

We generally have at least two types of coffee available - our "Special K" house blend, and at least one of our favourite single-source coffees (e.g. Costa Rica, Bolivia, Sumatra, Ethiopia, Jamaica Blue Mountain, etc.) - as well as a naturally de-caffeinated blend. We're quite proud of "Special K," a blend that we personally and carefully chose, a secret recipe that's unique to Kindred Cafe. It's amazingly good, however prepared, if we may say so ourselves! We offer many preparation options - we have equipped Kindred Cafe with the finest espresso machine (Elektra Modern), grinders (Macap and Bunn BrewWise), drip brewer (Bunn BrewWise) and french presses (all stainless steel) available. ALL of our coffees are custom roasted for, and delivered to, us twice a week. They are also all organically and sustainably produced, and fairly traded - and these aren't just buzz-words for us, we carefully avoid companies that exploit these terms - our coffee suppliers source beans that are grown sustainably and traded fairly, even if not certified as such. Our coffee is meticulously intended to be the best you've ever tasted! And the rest of our beverage and edible offerings are intentionally similarly impressive. For more about freshness and coffee varieties, etc., please check out our Information page.
A Taste of our Menu?

For every Kindred customer, we provide fast and friendly sit-in and take-out service and an excellent selection of food and beverage items. For that higher level of Cafe enjoyment, we offer day passes as well as monthly and annual memberships which provide the access to our three private rooms and private roof-top patio. Please ask at the front counter about getting, and enjoying, membership.
Our second-floor private meeting rooms are currently set up as follows: All three (Rooms 1, 2 and 3) are "Theatre and Game Rooms" with 32" LCD Widescreen TV and stereo setups along with Playstation 3 for games, music and DVD movies. Room 1 has a leather couch, loveseat and chairs allowing a capacity of at least 8 people (NOW AVAILABLE: ROCK BAND [VIDEO GAME]!). With their leather couches and chairs, Room 2 and 3 can comfortably seat at least 5 people each. Depending on weather and how busy we are, one or more of our second floor meeting rooms also double as semi-private areas, when not privately rented, for members' enjoyment between trips onto the Rooftop Patio (at no additional cost).

Of course, for members who are renting any of our rooms we also have available a huge assortment of DVDs, games and other toys such as Volcano Vaporizer aromatherapy devices. As per Ontario by-laws, all interior spaces are non-smoking. For now at least, our rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis (with reservations allowed in certain circumstances) at a price of only $15 per hour, per room. Wireless internet access is free for Kindred Cafe customers, and accessible no matter where you are in the Cafe - just ask for the current wireless network key when you visit.
There are restrictions and expectations relative to our policies and club membership scenario, subject to change without notice. Membership has many benefits, and not too many regulations.

Our ground floor is wheelchair accessible, but we regret that our bathrooms are not!
You'll find our spacious Ladies' Room on the second floor, and our smaller Men's Room on the ground floor (both are always very tidy and well-equipped).

We are located about a block away from the Wellesley subway station, not too far from the inter-city bus terminal, taxis are always easy to flag down on Yonge Street right outside the Cafe, and while we don't have any dedicated parking spaces, there are tons of available spaces (metered street and hourly/daily lot spots) nearby. There is also a wide range of hotels and hostels conveniently located and suitable for our patrons, including Sutton Place, Marriott, Days, Comfort and many others. We really are in the heart of Toronto, within walking distance of just about any attraction you could possibly want to visit - museums, schools, government services and legislature, parks, malls, shopping, ethnic and tourist areas, bars and nightclubs, cinemas, theatres, etc. For more information about events and attractions in Toronto, please consult our friends at Toronto Hemp Company (THC)'s Toronto resources page
